Monday 8th March 2010 - Demo Against Badger Cull in Wales On Monday 8th March activists from BARC travelled to Cardiff for a protest outside the Welsh Assembly buildings against the badger cull due to start in west Wales in May. 200 people from various groups throughout Wales and England were present to voice their concerns against the cull. Speaches were heard from local badger groups and campaign group Viva!
The UK government decided against a cull in England after a seven year experiment showed that culling badgers did not reduce the number of TB outbreaks in cattle, but despite the scientific evidence, the Welsh Assembly has decided to go ahead with its controversial plans for a large-scale massacre of badgers in Pembrokeshire.
